Postcards from Cuba – the Bloggers
If you ask almost any North American or European about Cuban bloggers, they will equate them with “dissidents”. The only bloggers they ever hear of or read about in mainstream (corporate) media are those heavily supported by the US and European power circles who make their names known. Like the “famous” Yoanny Sanchez and her “Y” generation, translated into 19 languages (don’t you wish we had that many available translaters??) But in fact there are a number of bloggers in Cuba posting far more interesting (and sometimes humorous) thoughts and experiences. You need to at least read Spanish to follow most of these….but I’ll give rough translations of what the blog names mean…. Here are some you may want to check out:
all start with http://
haciendolascosasmal.blogspot.com (doing things badly)
islamiacu.blogspot.com (isla mia cu –My Island Cuba)
